Tanjore big temple 

Thanjai Periya Kovil is also called Brihadisvara temple. its located in Thanjavur, its built by The Great Thamizh King Raja Raja Chozhan (Arulmozhi Varman). The real name of the temple is Thanjai Peruvudaiyar Kovil it is a name given by Arulmozhi Varman. build by chola between 1003 - 1010. It is one of the most beautiful and outstanding Architecture of the chola.

• This is one most visiting tourist place in South India. the temple build using granites. thanjai periya kovil actually have one of the big Sivan status in world. 
• Its almost 1000 yr old temple but its in 90' degree angle.
• The names of those who worked in the temple are engraved on the wall
• A stones weighing 80 tones was placed on top of the vimana
• the temple has a three level entrance gate
• The temple is under UNESCO  
• along with this also have two more temple  Gangaikonda chozhapuram , Airavadeswara Temple its under UNESCO

• only granites stones were used to build the temple not bricks and cements 
• basement of the temple they used sand and pebble stones 
• The first drainage system was built here by the Cholas
